Our Story

When Wally Norling started a home bible study in Cypress in 1979, he couldn't have imagined that it would turn into a thriving church that has had a history of blessing the community and sending missionaries all around the world. Today, our vision is still the same, to help people thrive as fully functioning followers of Christ! But as we have grown as a church, our vision has continued to expand in our community and beyond. As a result, we have outgrown our name. In an effort to unify our branches and be the local church that God has called us to be, we have changed our name to Neighborhood Church. We want to continue to be a church for our neighborhoods and to continue to encourage our church to reach out to the people around them for Jesus. We want the surrounding neighborhoods to see that this is a safe place they can call home.

We are a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, neighborhood church with a passion for engaging the local community and beyond, reaching out with the life-changing message of Jesus.

See our beliefs, and our leadership

We are people with flaws, with a past and a better future. We have made mistakes, and some of us are hurting right here, right now. We gather together as one community, seeking God, supporting one another, learning and worshiping together. We want to help others connect with the personal hope and practical help that God gives us.
