Why should I attend Celebrate Recovery?

God can give you true peace and joy and help you begin to feel truly loved in a way that you may have never experienced before. He can give you freedom from the feelings and behaviors that you can't seem to overcome. He can heal your heart, restore your relationships and mend broken families. Come meet the people whose lives God has changed. Come have your life changed. Come help others who are seeking God's help to change their lives. There is no greater blessing than to be used by God to help another person grow and change and find the freedom and wholeness that only God can offer.

What is Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is a part of Cypress Church's path for developing godly leaders. We're fulfilling the great commission by helping each believer to become a healthy, mature disciple of Jesus Christ.

Celebrate Recovery's focus is on healing the internal damage from sin that each believer has within them as the result of living in this fallen world. Experiencing God's healing from this internal damage is necessary for us to grow in Christ's character as believers. Without God's healing in our hearts, this internal damage shows up in various ways in our daily lives. It can show up as an addiction to drugs, alcohol, pornography, food, or anything else. It can also show up in many other ways: obsessive compulsive behavior, codependency, anger, fear, jealousy, inadequacy, depression, shame, guilt, etc.

In all cases, this internal damage hinders our walk with Christ, causes pain in us, hurts others, and damages our relationships. But God offers freedom and healing from all these things through the principles of His word employed in Celebrate Recovery.

Celebrate Recovery provides a safe, loving place where you can be accepted without being condemned or judged. It is a place where you can find help for the issues you are struggling with and healing for the pain that won't go away.

Who is Celebrate Recovery for?

Everyone! Some people have been led to believe that Celebrate Recovery is only for people with serious problems like drug or alcohol addiction. But we believe that Celebrate Recovery is for everyone. God teaches us that EVERY PERSON has been harmed by the sin of others and by their own sin. This includes internal emotional and psychological damage that each of us have experienced because of the sin of others. Whether through physical, sexual, emotional or psychological abuse, bullying, growing up in an alcoholic home or as a child of divorced parents, being abandoned, not being loved, accepted or nurtured by your parents, having parents who were emotionally distant or unavailable, or many other avenues, all of us have been harmed by the sin of others.

As a result, all of us have parts of us that need the internal healing God offers. At Cypress Church, we believe that Celebrate Recovery is a great way to help you heal from these hurts of the past and grow in the character of Christ and in your personal walk with God.
