Sermons Series: The Beauty in Our Crazy Family

God has a plan for us (Jeremiah 29:11), an amazing adventure to grow and develop us, with incredible experiences all along the way, so we experience Jesus and may be more like Jesus (Ephesians 4:11-14, Colossians 2:6-10). One of God’s main environments for growth and maturity is our families. But not just the basic social unit of the nuclear family, our extended family, our church family, our family of friends, our work family, and our community family. These connections and relationships influence us (Proverbs 13:20-25, 22:24-25, 1 Corinthians 15:33, Psalm 1:1) and they are used by God to build us up and refine our character (Proverbs 27:17). It is actually a beautiful thing, a bit crazy because in any of these relationships there is difficulty, struggle, and deep heartache. Yet God has a way to give ‘beauty for ashes’ (Isaiah 61:1-3) and use this environment to bring us to be all that He created us to be. See, there is a beauty in our crazy family! Let’s discover our part in this.
